It’s no secret that Dave Bautista wanted to play Marcus Fenix in a armament of war movie for a while… and now that they’re making one, the actor’s moment has finally arrived.
It was announced earlier this week that Netflix has acquired the rights to the armament of war video game franchise and would partner with The Coalition, the series’ developer, to develop a live-action film as well as an animated series. Dave Bautista took to Twitter today to ensure that those involved in armament of war the film always knows it is ready to participate.
Many fans supported the idea, with even the creator of the armament of war franchise, Bleszinski Cliff, saying Dave Bautista should be the one to play Marcus Fenix. The clip shared by Bautista is from a campaign for the release of Gears of War 5which found the actor appearing as a playable character.
Dave Bautista is such a fan of armament of war that he already started pitching the concept to studio executives when he was brought in to talk about a role in a fast furious after. “I make no claims about it. I was lucky enough to get a meeting at WB, they were talking to me about this and that and I said “hey, let’s talk about Bane”,said Bautista. “It happened to me another time in my career. They wanted to talk to me about Fast and the Furious, and I said ‘I’m not interested, let’s talk about [Gears of War character] Marcus Fenix…“
