One of the best films of the year, RRR, is gearing up for a sequel. Talk with The movie scenethe director of the film, SS Rajamouli, has confirmed a RRR the sequel is in development. According to Rajamouli, his father, V. Vijayendra Prasad, is working hard to make the follow-up bigger and better than the original.

“My father is the screenwriter of all my films. We talked a bit about [‘RRR 2’] and he works on the story, Rajamouli said. Although it is too early to disclose details of the RRR sequel, it’s exciting to know that another movie in the series is in the works.

You’re missing something if you’re an action movie fan and haven’t experienced it yet RRR. The historical fiction epic in the Telugu language is unlike anything you have ever seen. The film follows 1920s Indian freedom fighters Komaram Bheem (NT Rama Rao Jr., known as NTR Jr) and Alluri Sitarama Raju (Ram Charan). They join forces against the British colonial overseers. The three-hour odyssey is a nonstop action extravaganza about friendship, tiger fights, forbidden love, and quirky acrobatics that defy the law of gravity and logic. Once RRR kicks off, the film continues to be a spectacle of special effects, outrageous action, uplifting dance sequences, and celebrations of brotherly love.

“I used the word franchise thinking, hoping there would be another world of ‘RRR’ again,” says NTR Jr. “Sometimes [if] you just hope and you say a few words hoping that it will happen, it will happen. It’s just a way of thinking positively, of wanting more.

I couldn’t be more excited about this news. RRR is one of the best action movies I’ve seen in a long time, and I can’t begin to imagine how a sequel will take the story and characters to the next level. Are you excited about Prasad digging into a RRR after? Let us know in the comments.
