One of the best-selling video game franchises of all time is finally getting an adaptation. Not just one though. armament of war will get a movie and a series. Several production companies have been trying to launch a project since at least 2007, but it seems that Netflix is the only one to have succeeded. For a time, New Line Cinema owned the rights. Then Universal was planning to produce a feature film around the time of the release of Gears of War 4. This attempt also failed.
According to Netflix’s press release, the service will “first adapt the video game saga into a live-action feature film, followed by an adult animated series, with the possibility of more stories to follow.” They’re partnering on both with series developer The Coalition. For those unfamiliar with the plot armament of warhere’s how Netflix described it:

As of now, there is no cast or crew attached to the movie or the anime series which are currently in production. That being said, since Netflix came out and announced that there were adaptations on the way, chances are we’ll hear some news soon!
