As the hype mounts for the next The hunger Games prequel The Ballad of Songbirds and Serpents, it’s hard to forget where it all began. And while many hunger games fans may be out of this phase, star of the original films, Jennifer Lawrence, is feeling downright old.
Jennifer Lawrence of course paid tribute to Katniss Everdeen in all four The hunger Games films: the first of 2012, those of 2013 Catch fireand the 2014-2015 double header Mockingjay. In a recent New York Times profile, Lawrence said: “It makes me feel like I’m old as mold…I remember turning 21 and thinking, ‘God, one day they’re doing them again and doing them again.’ But I’ll be so old by then! I will be dead! »
As The Ballad of Songbirds and Serpents depicts the upcoming 10th Hunger Games and the first hunger games given the arrival of the 74th, Katniss will obviously not even be mentioned.
In the interview, Jennifer Lawrence hints at something much bigger. How long is too soon for nostalgia? There’s been a big wave of reboots and revivals lately, but they’ve at least given their inspirations time to settle in: the next fraser the sequel was announced more than 15 years after the release of the hit sitcom, quantum leap comes almost two decades after the end of the original and Fraggle Rock: back to the rock was created a quarter of a century after the end of the airwaves of the first. But the original hunger games the series only ended seven years ago. Are people really hungry?
